Pruett Norris is a journalist and film critic based in Asheville, N.C. He writes for online publication 828newsNOW about all manner of things, but his output can be broken down as "breaking news to movie reviews," with a side of broader arts and entertainment coverage.
Norris has been into movies for as long as he can remember. His career in film criticism began as a kid, when a few strongly-held convictions about Scooby-Doo transformed into passionately defended opinions about everything else. Today, he sees as many new releases as he possibly can and cares too much about the Oscars.
In his spare time, he likes to watch movies that make you feel very sad, films which prominently feature vampires, or the real masterpieces, which do both. Norris also enjoys Scrabble, comic books, event planning and reorganizing shelves.
Norris attended Appalachian State University and graduated with degrees in English and Electronic Media/Broadcasting. He is the proud president of a movie club, The PP Club, an eclectic collective of film lovers devoted to queer, horror and unusual cinema.
More than anything else, Pruett just loves sharing movies with people. Even the bad ones (he'll let you know which he thinks those are).
