Andrew J. Eisenman is a filmmaker and critic in Greensboro, N.C. Raised on VHS and coming of age in the YouTube era, Eisenman’s view of cinema is that of a democratic art form, capable of entertainment and persuasion in equal parts, as long as truth remains the North Star.
For him, criticism isn’t just about filmmaking, but an essential piece of it. Great films don’t just hold up to interrogation, they beg for it, blossoming into their full expression as you converse with them. Part of his artistic process is analysis of works he wants to draw from, and after encouragement from peers in the NCFCA, he took the practice public, writing for Elements of Madness and Ergo Magazine.
Eisenman has contributed to the Arts and Faith Ecumenical Jury, joined the selection committee for the Reel to Reel Film Festival in Cleveland County, N.C. and publicly lobbied the US Copyright Office for protections against the predatory, anti-art Generative AI Industry.
Andrew has a degree in Digital Media: Video Production and has edited hundreds of videos as a freelance video editor and director. He now works in AV Event Production. He was proud to join the NCFCA in 2024.
