Ackman
Nicole Ackman is a writer and podcaster based in Raleigh. She is a Staff Writer at AwardsWatch, in addition to running Culture Cabinet alongside two friends, including fellow NCFCA member Lex Williams. She also is a regular contributor to FF2 Media and Ready Steady Cut and runs a history-themed Substack newsletter. Her previous bylines include Next Best Picture, Oscars Central, Wealth of Geeks, and Culturess. Additionally, she is a theatre critic for BroadwayWorld Raleigh, having previously written for BroadwayWorld UK. She is the co-host of Petticoats & Poppies: History Girls at the Movies, a podcast in which she and her co-host Maggie examine period dramas from the perspective of people who have worked in both history and film.
Nicole graduated from Elon University with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Strategic Communications and from City University of London with a Master’s degree in Culture, Policy, and Management. She most recently earned her Master’s in Public History from NC State University and is now working as a public historian.
Nicole is passionate about Saoirse Ronan's films, Taylor Swift’s lyrics, and Jane Austen’s novels.
