Gabe Lapalombella is a graduate from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He earned a degree in communication studies with a journalism minor, and was a staff writer for the school newspaper. Gabe has been a passionate film lover since early childhood. He attended his first movie screening, Mark Wahlberg’s, “Lone Survivor,” in 2013. He then completed his first review of the same movie on the Reelzchannel network show, “Mark At The Movies.” Gabe has continued to attend as many screenings as possible in the Charlotte area. He also, co-hosted the radio show, “Reelly Good Movies with Gabe,” on IHeart radio from 2017 to 2020. Gabe wasan award-winning writer for The Niner Times (“Writer of the Year” and “Rookie of the Year”). Besides weekly film reviews, he’s had the privilege of interviewing film directors such as, Nicholas Jarecki, Michael Schwartz, and Tyler Nilson. He recently covered several of this year's film festivals including, The Sundance Film Festival, South By Southwest Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival. His goal is to continue reviewing films, thanks to connections via the NCFCA, and to obtain a job in film journalism.
