Andrew J. Eisenman is a filmmaker and critic in Winston-Salem N.C. He is a contributing writer at Elements of Madness, and Editor-in-Chief of the Pontificator. Raised on VHS and coming of age in the YouTube era, Eisenman’s view of cinema is that of a democratic art form, capable of entertainment and persuasion in equal parts. Critical writing is an essential tool for that art form, investigating great works for the viewers edification, and interrogating the power wielded by artistic commodification. Eisenman has contributed to the Arts and Faith Ecumenical Jury, served on the selection committee for the Reel to Reel Film Festival in Cleveland County, N.C from 2024-2026. and publicly lobbied the US Copyright Office for protections against the predatory, anti-art Generative AI Industry.
He is also serving on the NCFCA governing board as Community Coordinator.
